sessions
Once you have successfully completed your CCI-USA Fundamentals class you can set up paired sessions with other CCI co-counselors in the US or around the world.
In a co-counseling session two (or more) people take turns being the counselor and the client.
-
You split time with another trained co-counselor.
-
For half the time, you are the client (or talker), choosing what to explore or process.
-
The other person is the counselor (or listener), witnessing you with deep attention.
-
Then the two of you switch roles—it’s a peer process.
-
What you talk about or do as client is strictly confidential—not even your session partner can bring it up to you outside the session.

Find a session
If you want to find someone to session with, there is a spreadsheet of willing CCI-USA members available.

types of sessions
There are several ways to have a co-counseling session, including in-person, phone or, video conferencing sessions. Each method has its benefits and drawbacks, so it's important to choose the one that works best for you and your co-counselor.

You can also co-counsel in small groups, either in-person or online. Usually peer-led, members of a group split time and each person does their client time with group attention.
Some group sessions are drop-in—whoever attends decide whether to pair up and do sessions, or to split their time in the larger group.
session guidelines
Some key guidelines for a CCI session include:
-
you are always in charge of your own session
-
strict confidentiality - what happens in session stays in session
-
sessions are timed with equal time for each participant in each role
-
roles (client/speaker and counselor/listener) are peer and each person takes a turn in both roles
